Court Fixes August 4 for Arraignment of Asiri Eniba, 12 Others Over Alleged Murder

The Osun State High Court has fixed August 4, 2026, for the arraignment of Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, and 12 others over allegations of murder and unlawful possession of firearms.
The Osun State Government, through the Ministry of Justice, filed the charges following the killing of Oyebamiji Taiwo and Oyebode Damisi on February 17, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the charge was filed at the registry of the Osun State High Court on June 19, 2026.
Alimi said efforts to personally serve the defendants with the court processes were unsuccessful because they allegedly evaded service.
“Consequently, the High Court of Osun State, presided over by Hon. Justice M. O. Awe, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, ordered that the information, proof of evidence and all other court processes be served through substituted means by publishing them in the July 27, 2026 edition of the Nigerian Tribune,” the commissioner said.
He added that the court subsequently adjourned the matter until August 4, 2026, when the defendants are expected to be arraigned.
Reaffirming the government’s position, Alimi said, “The Osun State Government remains committed to the rule of law, public safety and the pursuit of justice through due process.”
The statement maintained that the government would continue to pursue criminal cases in accordance with the law while ensuring that justice is served.
