The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has advised Mr Dotun Babayemi to desist from parading himself as a member of the party in Osun State, as doing so is akin to continued self destruct and further proof of attitudinal indiscipline which led to his expulsion from the party.
This was contained in a press statement, signed by the party’s state chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi, which was made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Babayemi had claimed membership of the party on a radio program on Wednesday as against his subsisting expulsion from the party.
“The PDP is a party operating on the threshold of rule of law and it is strange that a man who prides himself as a legal practitioner would not understand the import of his expulsion from the party right from his ward.
“It is also laughable that Barrister Babyemi would attempt to rub mud of ridicule on the highest temple of justice in the country albeit making mockery of his acclaimed! societal standing by disparaging the lord justices of the supreme court, who ultimately threw away his meritless attempt to ambush the popular mandate of the good people of Osun State for his defeated cohorts.
“Politics though, is a wide field for all sort of actors including elementary undertakers feigning supermen, there should however be limits to self foolery. A non-starter in political goals doing a voodoo comparison¹ with a genetic winner like Governor Ademola Adeleke is nothing but political heresy
“While Babayemi is at liberty to fester and soliloquize in his school boy error of arrogance, which has blinded him to his political emptiness, we however take exception to using the good name of our great party and that of the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as launch board to ply his habitual trade of treachery.
The statement also noted that; PDP wishes to reiterate to the unsuspecting members of the public that Mr Dotun Babayemi by all intents and purposes, is not a member of our great party, the PDP in Osun State. His expulsion by the excutive committee of our party in ward 2, Otun-Balogun, Ayedaade local government, and as ratified by the state executive committee is still in force.
“We also wish to warn that the PDP in Osun State will not accept criminal impersonation of membership of our party. Mr Babyemi can continue in his trade as it suits his political purpose and as already exposed to all discerning minds in the state, but not on the platform of our party where he is not known to the books of record.
