Ede Monarch Host The New Olojudo Of Ido Osun as both Of them vow to work together for the peace, growth and development of their communities

The Timi of Ede Land, Oba Muniru Adesola Lawal Laminisa 1 today hosted the traditional ruler of Ido Osun, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola 11, Ilufemiloye 1 in his palace with both monarchs pledging for peace, unity and development of their communities and Osun state as at large.

The visit was witnessed by top chiefs on both sides of the communities, the meeting reaffirmed the historic ties of brotherhood among the people of the two towns, vowing to strengthen ties of unity and developmental cooperation.

In what was called historic reunion between the two towns,the chiefs, Mogajis from Ede and Ido Osun were fully in attendance to witness and participate in the rapprochement between the two communities.

The Timi of Ede in his remarks recalled the historical cord of unity between the two towns and welcomed the visit of Ido Osun Monarch as “a signal of a new positive beginning”

According to the Ede Monarch who is the paramount ruler for Edeland covering Ede South, Ede North and Egbedore local governments, the visitation shows and affirms the peace loving nature of the new Olojudo Ido Osun Monarch.

Stressing in his commitment to ensure development in Ede land and its environs,the traditional ruler expressed happiness that the dualisation of Akoda to Oke gada is to proceed under phase two to Ido Osun through Ofatedo and Osogbo.

“I commend the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for introducing an infrastructure upgrade which covers all towns and villages without discrimination or sectionalisation. We look forward to the completion of phase two of the ongoing dualisation”, the Ede Monarch posited.

Speaking earlier, the new monarch of Ido Osun said his visit to the Timi palace was to reestablish the cord of unity and brotherhood that has suffered some strains in recent times, declaring that “I am a monarch of peace, unity and development.

“Ede and Ido Osun are one. We are one people under God and man. I am in this palace to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to our common heritage in need of continuous development. I am here to assure the public at home.and abroad that Ede and Ido Osun are one people.

“ We are not fighting. We are united for the progress of our communities. From now onward, we will tap into each other’s strengths and correct each other’s weaknesses for our mutual good.

“I commend our chiefs and elders. I am for peace and my reign is for peace. I want development for my people and I believe the government of the day is committed to lifting our people out of under development “, the Monarch posited.
