The South-West People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement urging the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state to redirect its focus towards addressing the current economic challenges facing the nation under the leadership of the APC, rather than engaging in counterproductive criticism as an opposition party in the state.
In response to recent remarks made by the APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, regarding the alleged dismissal of Health Workers by Governor Ademola Adeleke, the South-West PDP expressed disappointment in what they deemed to be misleading information.
Chief Sanya Atofarati, the spokesperson for the South-West PDP, emphasized the importance of clarifying the facts for the benefit of the public, who may be misled by the APC’s allegations.
It is important to note that Governor Ademola Adeleke has not terminated any workers in Osun state. On the contrary, the Governor has fostered a positive working environment that has resulted in increased productivity across all sectors of governance in the state. Individuals who were hastily employed following Governor Oyetola’s defeat in the 2022 Governorship election without proper documentation were given the opportunity to reapply for their positions to ensure proper record-keeping.
The South-West PDP advises the Osun APC to focus on constructive engagement and issue-based politics rather than resorting to baseless accusations and distractions.
The South-West PDP highlighted the significant progress made in the health sector under Governor Adeleke’s administration. This includes the prompt payment of staff salaries and the clearance of backlog arrears left unpaid by the previous administration of former Governor Oyetola/APC led.
Additionally, there has been a concerted effort in the upgrade and rehabilitation of all primary health centers across the 30 Local Government Areas in the state, equipping them with state-of-the-art facilities to better serve the healthcare needs of the people. These developments demonstrate Governor Adeleke’s commitment to improving the overall well-being of the citizens of Osun state and ensuring access to quality healthcare services for all, while urging the APC in the state to brace up for more defeats in future elections.
