….vows support for Governor Adeleke’s second term
Following the recent report by the Debt Management Office ranking Osun among the top three states with reduced external debt, member representing Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration for the bold demonstration of responsible governance and solid fiscal management.
According to the report by DMO, Osun State successfully reduced its external debt by $14.6 million within an 18-month period, from June 2023 to December 2024, placing Osun alongside Lagos and Enugu as first two in debt reduction.
In a media chat today in Abuja, the thoroughbred banker described the development as a major win for Osun people and a clear indication that Governor Adeleke’s administration is not only people-focused but also financially prudent.
“I want every resident of Osun to know that this achievement is not a coincidence, but a result of strategic, intentional and transparent economic policies of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Reducing external debt while also paying attention to critical investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare is no small feat.
“So I urge the good people of Osun to remain hopeful and optimistic. If a government can achieve this much in just three years, imagine the greater strides that would be made with the continuity of a second term,” Adetunji stated.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker when asked about his stance amidst the shifting political tides in Osun reaffirmed his unwavering support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid in 2026.
“With milestones like this, Governor Adeleke has more than earned a second term. As a federal legislator from the state, I am committed to mobilizing support across IBO federal constituency to ensure his re-election. Osun deserves continuity in this direction,” the lawmaker concluded.
