OSUN AT 32 : Govt donates learning aids, edibles to orphans, persons with special needs

As part of the 3-day long series of activities to mark the creation of Osun 32 years ago,the state government has made a donation of learning and edible materials to persons with disabilities.

The gesture was aimed at giving them a sense of belonging as citizens of the state .

The theme of this year’s anniversary is “ The imperatives for an Improved Economic and Socio- Political Stability”.

Speaking during the presentation of the materials on Friday at the Primary school section of Schools for Persons with Special needs and Abiye Orphanage Home, all in Osogbo, the State Capital, the wife of Osun state governor, Mrs Titilayo Adeleke who made the presentation said the gifts were aimed at identifying with the beneficiaries because they are an integral part of the society .

The Governor’s wife who was represented by Mrs Dunsin Abimbola thanked and congratulated the state government and its people on this year’s anniversary.

Earlier in their separate addresses, the head teacher of the Primary Section,Schools for Persons with Special Needs, Mrs. Titi Amoo and the Manager of Abiye Orphanage home,Osogbo,Mrs Bukola Adegoke commended the state Government for its kind gesture, love and compassion especially for women and children in the State.

The duo expressed joy with the different care programmes of the present administration such as Eradication of Female Genital Mutilation, Care for the Vunerables, Orphans and People with Special Needs among others.

In his words, the Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Mr, Mudashir Oyedeji,told the gathering that the present Administration places high premium on the overall well being of all citizens including Children regardless of their health challenges.
