Osun State government has sympathised with one Mr Taofeek Oseni, whose workshop was engulfed by fire outbreak on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Igbo Owa, Ejigbo.
Hon. Emiola Fakeye, the Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on Emergency Management, expressed condolence to the furniture craftman over his loss.
Hon. Fakeye, who conveyed his condolence through Mr. Abayomi Olawuni, the Director of Administration and Supplies at the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), during a verification and assessment visit to the fire incident scene, thanked providence that no lives were lost and urged Mr. Oseni to submit a report of the incident to OSEMA for necessary assistance.
“I want to use this opportunity to advise Osun residents to be cautious during this dry season by avoiding activities that could cause fire outbreaks. Precautions included refraining from keeping fuel at home, turning off electrical appliances when not in use, shutting off gas after usage, and avoiding bush burning.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Taofeek Oseni said; “On the fateful day, he and his workers were not at the workshop, which they typically kept closed on Sundays. He received a shocking call while in Ede, informing him that his workshop was on fire. Upon arrival, he discovered that everything had turned to ashes, with no fire extinguisher available.”
Mr. Oseni appealed for support from the state government and NEMA, expressing his desperation as he lost all his work and the means to refund his clients and restart his business.
