The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State chapter, has dismissed claims made by one Isaac Owoseni Innocent, describing him as an impostor with no affiliation to the state civil service or recognised labour union.
In a strongly worded statement signed by Comrades Idris Adedayo Adeniran JUSUN Chairman, Osun State ln Tuesday.
The union said its attention had been drawn to a publication authored by Innocent, which it characterised as misleading and lacking credibility.
According to the statement, a verification of official personnel records showed that Innocent is neither a civil servant nor listed on the payroll of any ministry, department, or agency within the Osun State government.
The union further stated that Innocent does not belong to any recognised labour body, including affiliates of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) or the Trade Union Congress (TUC), stressing that he lacks the authority to speak on behalf of workers in the state.
The statement reads,
After a thorough verification of the State’s personnel records, we state categorically: Isaac Owoseni Innocent is an impostor. He is NOT a civil servant in Osun State. His name is NOT on any government payroll, and he does NOT belong to any ministry, department, or agency within the State Secretariat, Abere, or beyond.
Furthermore, he is NOT a “Comrade.” He holds no membership in any union affiliated with the NLC or TUC, nor does he have the legal or moral standing to speak on behalf of workers.
This is a classic, desperate gimmick by the opposition. Having failed to find any legitimate ground for campaign, they have resorted to hiring “ghost activists” to blackmail the leadership of the NLC, TUC, and JNC. This script is a failed attempt to destabilize the peace between the labour movement and the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration ahead of Workers’ Day.
The wise and patriotic civil servants of Osun State cannot be misled by a stranger who does not know the four walls of any office in our Secretariat. We are too focused to be distracted by political jobbers. We refuse to be dragged back to the dark days of “Igibiti” (half-salaries) and administrative hardship.
The workers of Osun State are too wise to be deceived by “ghost comrades.” We have moved past the dark era of “Igibiti,” and we will not allow any faceless agent to destabilize the State or our harmony ahead of Workers’ Day. We stand solidly behind our legitimate labour leaders and the current administration that prioritizes workers’ welfare.
Let the agents of evil and the faceless “Quality Assurance” impostor look elsewhere. The workers of Osun State have moved forward, and we are not going back!
