The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has lauded Dangote Group for its sponsorship over the years and for providing opportunities for businesses to thrive in the Country.
President of ACCI, Dr. Al-Multaba ABUBAKAR FCA, MFR,stated during the opening ceremony of the Abuja fair, that the inclusive trading platform welcomes companies, trade associations, government agencies and private sector organizations who have served as a catalyst for establishing fruitful investment and trade relations
Mujtabba said the International Trade Fair, AITF, is a prestigious multi-sectoral event in Nigeria offering domestic and international exhibitors a platform to showcase new products, access untapped markets, forge valuable business relationships and stay ahead of emerging trends in Africa
In his Good will message the representative of Dangote Group, GM Strategy and Government Relations, Hashem Ahmed, said Dangote Industries Limited, DIL, supports the sustenance of financing in Nigeria to enhance sustainable infrastructure development of the Country
The Group subsidiaries paid a whopping N474bn to the Federal Government in just three years in support of the extant law on sustainable finance principles.
The staggering sum was paid by the Group subsidiaries, Dangote Sugar, Dangote cement and Dangote Salt, combined.
This is aside the several empowerment/skills acquisition programmes, corporate social responsibility activities, sponsorship and philanthropic schemes which runs into several billions of Naira.
Hashem said Dangote’s financing is in pursuit of Federal Government Tax reform policy to expand Tax net for the development of the Country’s infrastructure
and there is no doubt that the theme of this year ‘s fair , “Sustainable Financing and Taxation”, aptly reverberates with the ongoing effort at gingering the Africa economy through the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA)
He urged visitors to the fair, traders and investors, and dealers of Dangote products to visit Dangote Pavilion, take advantage of the products and exchange ideas on business growth as the Dangote Fertiliser Limited, Dangote cement, Plc. and Dangote Salt and Seasoning NASCON are already on ground at the fair.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka- Anite said the theme of the fair speaks to many businesses,
MSME’s, and taxation.
“The issue in Nigeria however has always been one of accountability and ensuring that government use taxes received to improve the local business environment.
Doris said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has tasked the Ministry to ensure that businesses thrive.
She reiterated that President Tinubu’s administration’s eight focal areas are guided by the following eight key priorities food security, ending poverty, economic growth and job creation, access to capital, especially consumer credit, inclusivity, (women, youth persons with disabilities), improving security, improving the paying field and rule of law and fighting corruption.
