UEFA honours Champions League heroes Ronaldo, Buffon

Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured with a special award to recognise his remarkable legacy as the all-time leading goal scorer in the Champions League.

Also, former Italy goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon has received the 2024 UEFA Presidentโ€™s Award.

The duo were honoured at the UEFA Champions League phase draw that took place in Monaco on Thursday evening.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a name synonymous with excellence in European football, is set to receive a prestigious honour from UEFA, solidifying his status as the UEFA Champions Leagueโ€™s all-time top scorer.

The special award was presented by the UEFA President, Aleksander ฤŒeferin.

This took place during the 2024/25 UCL draw ceremony on Thursday, 29 August.

Ronaldoโ€™s unparalleled achievements in the UEFA Champions League, including his 140 goals across 183 appearances, have redefined the competitionโ€™s history.

PUNCH Online reports that the UCL draw, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League will take place respectively at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
