….says A nation is as quality as the quality of it’s Youths
The Convener of Take Over Summit, Adebayo Falade has called on state government across different states in the country to intentionally and consistently invest in Youths.
He made the call on Wednesday during the second edition of Take Over Summit which held at Aenon Suites Event hall in Osogbo, Osun state Capital.
While speaking, Adebayo Falade emphasized that the quality of a nation is determined by the quality of it’s leaders and youths, while noting that Nigeria needs capable leaders that are capable of transforming sectors.
He, also added that Take Over Summit is a platform which enable young minds to receive mindset of greatness from speakers who are global leaders, because mindset is transferrable.
He said, “What we’re experiencing is basically lack of quality leaders and I believe strongly that a Nation is as quality as the individual that makes up that Nation, so I feel like we need capable leaders that are capable of transforming sectors, take over different sector to live effectively and efficiently to make our Nation Nigeria advance.
“This platform will be helpful because every speaker here today has a track record of greatness and I believe that the mindset is transferable, so coming here today, individuals are coming to receive the mindset other speakers.
“It’s practical templates we’re giving people that are here, we have speakers that are vast in different areas even including Economics, for example one of the speakers that will be speaking here today Mr Seun has a very good knowledge about
the way economy works and he’s going to be giving practical steps even myself I’ve given my speech and you could see that that was captured in my speech so I feel like every other speaker, they are giving practical steps not something that will just work on paper but it’s something
that’s able to transform the fortune of our nation Nigeria.” He reiterated.
Falade however appealed to state Governors across Nigeria to consistently invest in youths just like other foreign countries.
“I strongly believe that a Nation is as powerful as the quality of it’s Youth, so Nation must consistently invest in its youth. You can sponsor youth to have education, health sector, you know we go to other countries to learn, to see the way excellence has been achieved. So our government should start bringing these templates down to Nigeria to be able to give them a favorable conditions to learn on how to improve different sectors.
“I’m appealing to the government that they should actually provide
environment to make youth to manifest their gifts, basically because we have a lot of potential as and the reason why they are not maximizing is because there’s no favorable conditions. So the government should create a favorable condition for these people to be able express their gifts in different sectors so government should be able to invest in it and the Nation itself for change.” He stated
In his words, Member, Osun state House of Assembly, Hon Adewumi Irekandu, who is also one of the speakers, commended the convener for bringing people together to teach them about leadership.
Irekandu maintained that the very important ingredients we need as a nation is direction which he summarized as to having a vision.
“I sincerely appreciate Bayo Falade for taking this selfless route to bring people together and teach them leadership, to instill in them leadership with values. This is very important and I sincerely appreciate it.
“I feel we need, as a nation, not only as a nation, even individually, is that we need to have direction, which can be summarized to having a vision. You cannot begin to live your life as just as circumstances dictate or direct you. There has to be a direction. And when you have a direction, you also need to have a mindset that solves problems.
“We have plenty of challenges and problems that we need to solve.
And when you have a mindset that solves problems, you need to also be equiped to solve the problem, by making sure you have access to information, gain knowledge every means by which you don’t underestimate the problems that you want to solve.
“And then finally, we need to take charge, you know, start something. Don’t wait until, you see, even what you want to do, it might be big, but start from somewhere, you know, start very small.” He advised.
The member, continued by advising youths to go into Politics, and engage in governance.
In an interview with newsmen, one of the participants, Ololade Ojo described the summit as an essential seminar that all youths and young minds deserve in season like this.
According to her, “If we want to live a life of value, like in our various sector that we are in, maybe in media, in tech, in businesses, we have to let people know the value that we actually have. And value actually attracts value.
“So, in your relationships with people, you have to make your value to the seen. You have to let them know, okay, this is, like a particular skill that I have, this is what I’m capable of doing, and whatever we find ourselves doing, we should do it well.
” I’ve been learning about value in this summit in terms of individually,and how I can make use of it to the world out there. So, the thing is that as I’m going now, as I’m leaving this program now, I have to make use of everything that I’ve learned. It’s not like everything I’ve learned it should die there. I have to practicalize everything that I’ve learned by living a life of value.” She added.
