Why Nigerian women must vote Atiku -Governor Adeleke, Women Group Leaders

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke and leaders of women groups in Osun state have drummed support for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

This was made known at a well attended summit organised by the Osun State Women in Politics with the theme “Bridging The Gap: Women as a Driving Force in Political Participation Towards Electoral Success”.

The summit was initiated and Powered by the President of Adeleke Women of Substance (home and abroad), Chief (Dr) Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni.

The Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, who was represented by the Caretaker Secretary of the Osun State People’s Democratic Party, Otunba Femi Carena, while addressing the mammoth crowd, conveyed the goodwill message of Mr. Governor to the women.

“I salute all the women in this monumental event. My administration is making frantic efforts to promote the contribution of women in the domain of politics and decision making and ensure women are fairly represented in the grand scheme of things.

“Women constitute more than half of the population and therefore have a great role to play in societal development and by extension, nation building. The world needs you because you are lifters and builders of others. Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women. A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform. I promise my administration will not take you for granted”, Governor Adeleke concluded.

Speaking at the occasion was the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Deputy Director-general of Ajagunla Campaign Council, Barrister Kolapo Alimi. The Oluomo of Erin-Osun described the recent judgment of the Justice Kume-led tribunal as a glaring judicial error, adding that such travesty of justice cannot stand the test of time at the appellate court.

Barrister Kolapo Alimi reassured Osun women and the good people of Osun State in general that Senator Ademola Adeleke will come out victorious at the appeal and Supreme Courts, adding that nothing can subvert the popular mandate freely given by the people.

During the final address, the Yeyeluwa of Edeland and Yeye Oba of Iroko Ekiti, Chief Dr) Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, told Nigerian women to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The Senior Abiyamo of Nigeria (SAN), alleged failure of the APC government to bring the desired growth and development in Nigeria within the past eight (8) years.

“Nigerians are no longer comfortable with the economic hardship created as a result of misrule of the APC. The present government has impoverish Nigeria and destroyed many businesses. I implore fellow Nigerian women not to sell our votes.

“Also, I want to assure you that as far as Osun State is concerned, DARKNESS HAS VANISHED“. No more darkness as the light has come. His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has come to stay and no Kangaroo judgement can steal popular mandate”.

Dr (Mrs) Adeleke-Sanni added that the general prices of commodities have risen beyond what it used to be during PDP’s administration. While urging Nigerian women to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Senior Abiyamo of Nigeria (SAN) added that voting for Atiku Abubakar would translate to making Chief (Mrs) Titi Abubakar the first Yoruba woman to become First Lady.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has also promised 40% women’s representation in his government. Let us therefore, increase our voting capacity from 400 thousand recorded in the July 16, 2022 govenroship election to 600 thousand in the February 25, 2023 election”, she concluded
