*** Warns on consequences of undermining the peace of Osun state
The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has called on residents of the State to stay alert to a wide range of orchestrated plots by the opposition All Progressives Congress to unleash terror on the the people of the state, using the presidential rally of their party slated for tomorrow as cover.

The planned attacks according to findings, was borne out of growing frustration of Mr Tinubu’s presidential campaign, which has suffered open rejection by Nigerians including Osun State.
The PDP also accused the APC of using the scheduled campaign of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as a cover to import thugs into the state to cause mayhem.
According to a statement by its Caretaker Chairman, Dr. Akindele Adekunle on Wednesday, PDP said the latest move by the APC is in continuation of its desperate plot to hijack the state, warning that the PDP led government in Osun state will go tough on criminal elements trying to disrupt the peace of the state.
Dr. Akindele asked the people of the state not to entertain any fear about the growing desperation of the APC as the PDP will do anything to ensure safety of the people, calling on residents to be alert to their environment and immediately report suspicious movements around their vicinity to security operatives to nip in the bud the violent plots of the drowning APC.
“The entire people of Osun state are aware of the desperate bid of the APC to force itself on the state following its overwhelming rejection at the July 16 governorship election,” the statement noted, adding that “Knowing well that its procured Buga judgement will not survive the scrutiny of higher courts, the APC is taking to importing thugs into the state to stir upheavals to blackmail the government of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.”
“So, the APC is using the campaign of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, holding on Thursday, to bring dangerous thugs from Lagos and other neighbouring states. The move, we are well aware was to create a sense of instability in Osun state, and use as a ground to push the next agenda of persuading President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency in the state”
Dr. Akindele said the plot will fail as Osun people will never succumb to the antics of the APC. PDP according to him, will continue to stand with the people of the state in their fierce determination to ensure their will is not subverted by violence or compromised judicial officers.
“We want to place on record that the unfounded alarm being raised by the Apc was part of the evil strategy and calculated attempt to distract attentions from its evil plot, and also a ploy to mislead security agencies to hound, harass and arrest prominent leaders of our party in order to keep them out of circulations.
“The PDP is ever peaceful and this why our government approved the use of the campaign venue for the APC, contrary to the harrowing experience inflicted on our party while they held sway in the state.”
“We want to assure the Apc that they will lose the coming presidential election, no matter what they do. Nigerians from all indications and especially the stance of the good people of Osun State, have rejected Apc and it’s colorless, Baba Blue Bulala agenda. No amount of violence can salvage the moribund ambition because Apc is doomed to fail this time.
The PDP however called on security agencies to wake up to its duty of ensuring peace and stability in Osun state, just as the country gets closer to the general election. The party noted that security agencies must not allow their ranks to be infiltrated by hardened criminals working for Apc in fake police uniforms during electioneering and the election proper.
These fake operatives are shrouded militia arm of Tinubu Presidential Campaign Team and are codenamed “Jagaban Army”. The plan is to infuse them into mainstream security outfits with pliable heads of security units, who will allow them carry out their terror plans on the people. This is authoritative and security agencies are alerted accordingly.
“Watching the APC execute its destructive mission of test running the terrorists called Jagaban Army in the guise of presidential rally and foisting unimaginable pains on Nigerians in Osun State won’t be acceptable, as such can only happen with dire consequences”
“Furthermore, we want to charge the police and other security agencies in the state to invite leaders of the APC in the state, particularly one Kola Olabisi and the Acting Chairman of the party to provide clarifications on many of their frivolous claims.
The Police and the DSS must go all out to prevent any attempt to throw Osun into crisis, which is the ultimate objective of the APC at this time, hence, the need to go tough on its leaders making unfounded claims to heat up the polity.”
