Osun: Senator Adeleke Condemns Attacks on Prince Oyinlola

Press Statement: My attention has been drawn to reports of attacks on Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola during last week controversy over Osun PDP Ward Adhoc Congress. On behalf of my family and supporters, we condemn the incident as uncalled for and contrary to the peaceful code of politicking my family is known for.

We have been working closely with Prince Oyinlola to ensure peaceful reconciliation within Osun PDP. We therefore have no reason to support or sponsor any attack on the former Governor. As a family and group, we cherish peaceful interactions despite any temporary political differences. The former Governor deserves the support of every stakeholders as efforts are ongoing to ensure permanent restoration of unity and brotherhood within the party.

In the same vein, we find it reprehensible for anybody to embark on a smear campaign against my brother, Dr Deji Adeleke who is only a symphatiser of the party in the state. Juat like myself and other members of my family and group, Dr Deji Adeleke is only supporting the aspiration of his brother. That is, of course, what a brother should do for a brother.

It is therefore imperative to state that neither myself nor my brother, Dr Deji Adeleke, is involved in any attack on Prince Oyinlola or any other leader of the party. Those attacking Dr Deji Adeleke over the incident are therefore chasing shadows and are wrongly targetting a brother whose life is dominated by peace and tranquility.

I make bold to say that my ambition has always been peacefully driven. I enjoy massive goodwill and backing of the people as I relate with the people on daily basis. Therefore, I did not and will not, under any circumstances, authorise or sponsor any molestation of party elders and leaders.

I consequently urge our party elders, leaders men and women including Prince Oyinlola to disabuse their minds and set records straight on this incident. The Adeleke family has no hand in the said incident. We remain peace loving, rule observing and unity- seeking actors within the PDP.

Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke
