Announcing Sheriff’s declaration to contest, yesterday (Friday) in Maiduguri, Aspirants’ Forum Chairman, Grema Kyari, disclosed that; “Sheriff is to declare intention to contest within 24 hours at the National Convention slated for February 26, in Abuja.
According to him, the nomination form for the post of NWC, will be procured for Sheriff by the Forum.
He said the sales of nomination forms commences February 14, 2022 by the APC Caretaker Extra -Ordinary Convention Planning Committee.
“All the released guidelines on the APC convention are to be adhered to for a hitch-free National Convention,” he said.
Even though elective positions were not disclosed, Kyari insisted that; “We’re waiting for the APC leadership to release the zoning arrangements before taking any further decision on the NWC membership.
While passing a vote of confidence on the APC’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, President Muhammadu Buhari and other stakeholders, he said: “We are expecting the lost glories to be restored from the over a decade insurgency in the state.
“This forum is waiting for the leadership of the party to come out with the zoning arrangements before our decision is taken,” he said.
He added that the nomination forms for the posts of NWC members, will be procured for Sheriff by the Forum; when sales commences by the APC secretariat on February 14.
According to him, the call on Sheriff to serve is necessary, considering his contribution towards improving the living conditions of youths and other party members.
He therefore solicited the ruling party and stakeholders to fully support Sheriff becoming a member of the NWC from Borno.
