Everything is set for the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) special national convention.
This convention is similar to the one that produced Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who went on to win the general election in 1999, ushering democracy back into the country.
Already, the Velodrome at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium Abuja, the convention’s venue, has been repainted in PDP colours.
The elective convention aimed at producing a flag bearer for the PDP is being attended by 14 presidential aspirants.
One of them, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, told Radio Nigeria that the processes leading up to Saturday’s event had been smooth and fair.
Mr Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary, told radio Nigeriaa that the convention was an opportunity for Nigerians to remove the APC from power due to what he called ineptitude.
Senator David Mark, Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), has assured that arrangements have been made for a smooth operation.
