Group Describes APC Restoration Forum’s Claims as Projection and Political Desperation

A socio-political group in Osun State, the Osun Democrats for Democracy (ODD) has read with deep concern and utter disbelief the press statement issued by the so-called Osun APC Restoration Forum, wherein it made reckless, unfounded, and malicious allegations against the Osun State Government and the ruling party over an alleged attack in Osogbo.

ODD in a statement signed by it’s Director of Operations and Public Affairs, Adeyefa Adeyemo which was made available to newsmen on Friday in Osogbo, stated that the statement is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and heat up the polity through false narratives and manufactured victimhood.

The statement read further;

It is important to note that the APC Restoration Forum is accusing the ruling party of exactly what the APC, as a party and as a former government in Osun State, is notoriously known for.

The APC has a long and well-documented history of harassing, intimidating, and unleashing violence against members of the PDP and other opposition parties across Osun State during its time in office. The bitter memories of abuse of power, political intolerance, and suppression of dissent under APC rule are still fresh in the minds of the people.

The APC today is clearly haunted by its past. Having lost the confidence of the people through years of malicious and arrogant use of power, it now seeks to project its own sins onto a peaceful and people-oriented administration. This habitual culture of intimidation and political oppression was the hallmark of APC governance in Osun, and no amount of propaganda can erase that reality.

The allegation that thugs sponsored by the present administration attacked anyone while mounting billboards is baseless, irresponsible, and unsupported by facts.

Osun State under Governor Ademola Adeleke has maintained one of the most open and tolerant political environments in recent history, where all parties freely operate without state-sponsored harassment. If indeed any incident occurred, due process and lawful investigation, not media sensationalism should be followed.

Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is not distracted by cheap political drama or street-level politics. He is fully focused on governance and on delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State. The governor is relying on his verifiable achievements across infrastructure, workers’ welfare, healthcare, education, and social protection as the basis for seeking renewed support from the people.

The Governor’s work is already speaking loudly across all zones of the state. Communities are witnessing real development, civil servants are experiencing improved welfare, and ordinary citizens are feeling the impact of a government that governs with empathy, humility, and responsibility. This is the platform upon which Governor Adeleke will seek the people’s mandate again.

Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is a law-abiding citizen, a peaceful democrat, and a leader who respects the rule of law. He has no history of political violence and has no need for it. His strength lies in the genuine love and support of the people of Osun State, who freely and overwhelmingly elected him and who will, by the grace of God and the will of the people, vote for him again in the August 8, 2026 Osun Governorship Election.

What the APC Restoration Forum has demonstrated through its statement is clear desperation. Unable to confront the achievements of the Adeleke administration or present a credible alternative to the people, the APC has resorted to false accusations, inflammatory rhetoric, and diversionary tactics.

However, Osun people are politically conscious and discerning. They know who misused power in the past and who is responsibly using it today.

Osun Democrats for Democracy (ODD) remains committed to peace, democracy, and issue-based political engagement. We urge all political actors to conduct themselves responsibly and caution against the spread of falsehoods capable of undermining public peace.

No amount of propaganda or blackmail will distract Governor Ademola Adeleke from his commitment to good governance, nor will it diminish the resolve of the people to stand with a leader whose works are visible and whose intentions are sincere.

Come August 8, 2026, the people of Osun State will once again speak through the ballot, peacefully and decisively, in affirmation of progress, good governance, and people-centred leadership.
