The Special Adviser and Spokesperson to Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke has more development projects in the pipeline for Iwoland, urging residents to sustain the prevailing peace and support the Governor’s re-election bid.

Speaking at a meeting of the Iwo Action Council (IWAC) on Saturday, Rasheed said the Adeleke administration had already delivered several landmark projects across Iwoland and was determined to do more in the areas of infrastructure, water supply, industrial development and agriculture.

According to him, the administration has embarked on road projects that have transformed different parts of the constituency, including the Araromi–Panada–Kuti Road, Osogbo Junction–Ajigbaagun Road, Feesu–Agbowo Road, Ile-Amin–Jagun Ode Road, Post Office–Muniare–Oke Bode/Okefa Road, as well as the ongoing Testing Ground–Gaa Fulani–Amuludun Road and Agoro–Patara Road.

Rasheed said the dualisation of the Odo Ori–Adeke Road remains one of the administration’s landmark achievements in Iwo, describing it as the first major dual carriageway in the town’s history.

“Governor Adeleke did not just dualise roads; he redesigned the heart of Iwo. It is a city centre development project that will change the face of the town for generations to come,” he said.

He explained that the project stretches from Palace Junction through Akaso Junction to the Post Office Junction and is aimed at giving the ancient town a modern city centre.

The Governor’s aide also pointed to the reconstruction of the Adeke Bridge, recalling that it had become a major concern for residents before the present administration intervened.

He said the bridge project had improved movement within the town, adding that the Governor’s approach to governance had also promoted unity by ensuring that every section of Iwoland benefits from government projects.

On water supply, Rasheed disclosed that the Iwo Water Works had been reactivated, noting that work on the remaining phase of the project would continue as more funds become available.

He further revealed that the state government plans to develop the Oke-Oba area of Iwo into an industrial hub to take advantage of the Federal Government’s Inland Dry Port at Erunmu in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to him, the old Samosta Farms will also be revived through the Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL) to attract international agricultural investors.

“Governor Adeleke has directed that the host community should participate in the ownership of the farm to ensure that the people directly benefit from the investment,” Rasheed said.

He added that the administration also plans to extend the ongoing dualisation from Post Office to Adeke Junction, while another dual carriageway has been proposed from Oluponna Junction to Kara Market.

Rasheed appealed to the people of Iwoland to support Governor Adeleke’s re-election, saying the administration had fulfilled many of its promises through projects that many residents once considered unattainable.

“The Governor has done so much for Iwoland, but there is still much more to come. Supporting his re-election will ensure that ongoing projects are completed and the bigger development plans for the area become a reality,” he said.

The meeting was attended by the President and members of the Iwo Action Council (IWAC), representatives of various Iwo social clubs and stakeholders from different political parties.
