A political group, Atiku/Okowa Movement has welcomed the choice of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by the PDP presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as running-mate as a clear statement that the party is prepared to take over power in 2023.
In a statement by the Interim Secretary, Sarafa Ibrahim, the group acknowledged the choice Delta State Governor as a perfect pair for Atiku in the daunting task to rescue Nigeria through the next year’s election.
“We join millions of Nigerians to commend the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for settling for a running-mate that preface him as ready to get this country back on track,” the statement noted.
“Nigeria is in a tough situation, and we need a competent team to turn things around. It is relishing that Atiku showed he is ready because the choice of his running-mate is undisputably outstanding.
“Okowa is one of the best Governors we have in this country going by the monumental achievements he has recorded. He will bring to bear all these in helping Atiku to navigate this country through one of the darkest moment of its history.”
The group called on all PDP leaders to key into this partnership and rally every Nigerians to go for them at the poll. “It is no longer in doubt that APC lacks the capacity to run this country going by its gross failures, and the only way out of this mess is to vote a Atiku/Okowa ticket of the PDP.”
