Every 15th day of January is set aside annually to honor the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
At the ceremony, Osun State Governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, delivered a speech, paying tribute to the brave men and women who have lost their lives in service to the nation.
The event featured a wreath-laying ceremony, which was performed by :

- The Chief Judge
- The Commandant, Nigerian Air Force
- The Commander, ECC Ede
- The Commandant, Nigerian Navy, Ile-Ife
- The Commissioner of Police
- HRH, Ataoja of Osogbo
- The Chairman, Nigeria Legion
- Representative of Widows
The ceremony culminated in a 21-gun salute, fired in honor of the departed heroes.
