
Adeleke Celebrates Ifayemi Elebuibon at 79, Describes Him as Custodian of Yoruba Heritage

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated the Araba of Osogbo Land, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, on the occasion of his 79th birthday, describing him as one of the foremost custodians of Yoruba culture, spirituality and indigenous knowledge.
The governor’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who said Adeleke praised the renowned traditional scholar for his lifelong commitment to preserving and promoting Yoruba heritage.
According to the governor, Chief Elebuibon has, over the years, distinguished himself as a respected authority on Yoruba traditional religion, philosophy, language and culture, earning recognition both within Nigeria and internationally.
Adeleke also commended the Araba of Osogbo Land for promoting religious tolerance, cultural education and peaceful coexistence while serving as a bridge between tradition and contemporary society.
“Today, I celebrate an icon, a cultural giant and an exceptional son of Osun State, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, as he marks the remarkable milestone of his 79th birthday,” the governor said.
He added, “Chief Elebuibon’s life has been devoted to the preservation of Yoruba heritage and the spiritual traditions that have shaped our identity as a people. Through his scholarship and lifelong advocacy, he has become one of the foremost ambassadors of Yoruba culture across the world.”
The governor further stated that the traditional leader has continued to provide guidance on matters relating to culture, tradition and spirituality while remaining “a respected voice for peaceful coexistence and cultural understanding.”
He said, “His dedication to preserving our history and indigenous knowledge has enriched not only Osun State and Nigeria but also the global appreciation of Yoruba civilisation.”
Congratulating the elder statesman on behalf of the government and people of Osun State, Adeleke prayed for his continued good health, strength and many more years of fruitful service.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Osun State, I congratulate Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon on this landmark celebration and pray that Almighty God grants him continued good health and many more years of fulfilment as a custodian of our rich cultural heritage,” the governor said.
