Adeleke didn’t sack any staff in Osun Poly – Registrar

Contrary to nefarious news being peddled around on the social media that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State sacked some staffers of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, authorities of the Polytechnic have declared that “no member of staff of the Polytechnic was sacked by the State Government”.

The Registrar of the Institution, Prince Abiodun Oloyede in a statement made available to the public said “we are only reviewing the appointment of our Contract Staff. It is a normal thing to assess and evaluate the performances of Contract Workers to give room for further efficiency in their performance at work. It is an evaluation and assessment exercise, but not an arbitrary disengagement of the Part-Time Staffers.

“They have been given a month notice already, which was already stated in their letter of appointment initially.

“It should also be noted that interested members among the Contract Staffers who are still willing to continue their service should re-apply through their Heads of Department”, the statement noted.

Also, Chairman, Governing Council of the Institution, Honourable Diran Ayanbeku while commenting on a fictitious report on a Facebook Account said “the reviews of the Contract Staff appointment should not be politicised by the All Progressives Party (APC) cynics, saying”it was a usual exercise during the 12 years reign of the APC in the State.”

He averred that “a single staff was not given a permanent appointment by the APC led- government in the state, despite the fact that a good number of the staffers retired or disengaged voluntarily in the polytechnic sector.

“Therefore, I call on members of the public to ignore the fictional stories that were published to tarnish the image of the governor. The stories are mere junks that were scripted to misinform members of the public”, Ayanbeku said.
