Yobe Wins FIRS Revenue Remittance Award for 2021

The Yobe State Government has won the 2021 best performing state revenue remittance award of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The revenue service award is for exceptionally performing state in the country for prompt remittance of monthly revenues.

Presenting the award to Governor Mai Mala Buni at the weekend (Saturday) in Damaturu, FIRS Coordinator for Borno, Yobe and Bauchi states; Mohammed Mayanda, disclosed: “Buni has been an exceptionally performing in regular revenue remittance.”

He said that the State Government is a role model for other states; in the collection and remittance of revenues to FIRS.

According to him, the 36 states were rated with Yobe and emerged the best in the zone B category of revenue remittance.

Responding, Buni assured that his administration would continue to live up to expectations with transparency and accountability to the people.

He, therefore, charged the revenue agency to work and improving the synergy with the state government in revenue remittance.
