Mali: Air Force Acquires Combat Helicopters, Radars, Others

The Air Force received a batch of equipment comprising 2 MI-24P type combat helicopters, 4th generation radars and other combat equipment.

 The reception took place on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Modibo Keïta International Airport in Bamako. 

It took place in the presence of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Division General Oumar Diarra, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Brigadier General Alou boï Diarra and several other military leaders.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Oumar Diarra affirmed that this acquisition is the result of a frank collaboration between the Federal Republic of Russia and Mali which does not date from today but also the declared willingness of the authorities of the Transition to equip the Malian Armed Forces to meet the security challenge. 

According to him, this second batch of equipment from Russia will certainly help the FAMa in their daily struggle to eradicate terrorism throughout the national territory. 

The General specified that other military equipment will follow within the framework of this fruitful cooperation between Mali and Russia.
