The Borno State Government in partnership with Action Against Hunger (AAA) has raised its social protection register to over 80,700 vulnerable households.
The integration of 6,719 households was funded by the European Union (EU); under the social protection project (SPP) in the State.
While announcing the new households on register, yesterday (Tuesday), at the EU Borno packaging coordinating meeting in Maiduguri, the Special Adviser to the Governor on agriculture, Ali Damasak disclosed: “The state government approved 64, 238 vulnerable households into its register.”
According to him, the households were drawn from seven Local Government Areas; with the engagement of 80, 713 of them.
He noted that Konduga council has the highest vulnerable households of 19, 000 as of December last year.
