The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has identified with The Osun Progressive (TOP)– a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, recognising Rasaq Salinsile as the Chairman of the party in the state.
This development came after months of speculations on where the former Governor stand in the crisis rocking the ruling party.
Gboyega Oyetola succeeded Aregbesola in 2018 but it appeared that both men have fell out and are no longer on the same page.
“I belong to TOP,” Aregbesola declared at the commissioning of the Digital Nigeria Centre (DNC) in Ijesa Muslim Grammar School, Ilesa, Osun state, on Friday, projecting it as “the group established to correct the wrong within the APC.”
On the question of who is the chairman of the APC in Osun state, Aregbesola pointed to the direction of a former lawmaker in the state, noting that “I greet the Chairman of APC, Honourable Rasaki Salinsile, the Chairman of my own APC in Osun.”
