Don’t Blame Your Abandonment of Late Famodun on State Government, PDP Fires Back at APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state should explain why it abandoned the late Gboyega Famodun in his hours of needs instead of blaming the state government for imposing curfew to stop disruption of peace by APC thugs at Igbajo.

Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the assertion in response to a statement from the state APC, lambasting the opposition for failing to fund the treatment of Famodun despite repeated calls for help from his family.

The PDP in a statement signed by rhe state party chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi asserted that the APC cannot blame the state government for its callousness and man’s inhumanity to man by the way it treated late Famodun, explaining that Governor Adeleke was only responding to security reports which indicated imminent breakdown of law and order at Igbajo.

Questioning when the state APC become organisers of burial rites, the party mocked the APC for trying to cover up its failure to support its former chairman during his hours of needs and termed the treatment meted unto Famodun as a betrayal by those he served diligently during his lifetime.

The PDP noted that declaration of a curfew was a decision of the state security council which was approved and ratified by Mr Governor following reports that APC thugs are attacking people of Igbajo.

“ The governor has a duty to ensure the maintenance of law and order through appropriate workings of the security council. The APC lied and was clever by half with its accusations against the state governor.

“We urge the Inspector General of Police and the general public to discountenance the fake news from the state APC. Governor Adeleke is only discharging his constitutional duties through appropriate security agencies”, the statement concluded.
