The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewalen Egbedun, today applauded the role Osun teachers are playing in the society towards building an enlightened nation.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, which was made available to newsmen on Monday.
The Statement reads:

“Egbedun said teachers are critical stakeholders in building society, commending the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his initiative to prioritise workers’ welfare.
According to him, “teachers are the foundation builder of the society. The first contact children do have after their parents are teachers. They mould and nurture dreams, hence deserve to be well-motivated.”
While speaking earlier, the State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Fatade Muritala Olatoke used the opportunity of the visit to congratulate the Speaker and also asked Rt. Hon. Egbedun for his intervention on some of their request.
The Honourable Speaker while responding assured them that he would help them to facilitate a meeting with Governor Adeleke, where they can discuss their request.
He affirmed that the Governor is a kind-hearted man who will continue to attend to the welfarism of the workers in the State, reiterating the commitment of the House to moving the state forward.
Also at the meeting are: Comrade Akin Adeojo (State Secretary), Comrade Owolani Benjamin Kayode (State Treasurer), Comrade Olagunju Sulaimon (Assistant Secretary) and Comrade Olawumi Latifat (Accountant).
