Ifon/Ilobu clash: Let peace continue to reign in Osun – Governor Adeleke appeals

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola has appealed to the two warring communities, Ifon and Ilobu, in the State, to sheath their swords so as to restore the prevailing peace for which Osun is known for.

The Governor stated this on Thursday in Osogbo, the State Capital, at the first edition of “Ipade Imole”, a quarterly meeting organized for the Governor to give account of his stewardship, and to allow the residents of the State to make their requests known to Government.

He said his administration would not allow anybody to hide under the canopy of land dispute to perpetrate murder, warning that anybody found guilty would be brought to book.

Adeleke said, ” I charged the traditional rulers to take charge of their domains and ensure there is co-operation among them for the State to progress. I also mandate the Commissioner of Police and other security operatives to beef up security in the two Towns”.

While condoling with the the families of the bereaved and the two ancient Towns, the Governor called for a minute silence to mourn the dead.

It would be recalled that the battle between the two Communities took another dimension yester-night, reportedly resulting in the loss of two lives.
