An Open Letter to Hon. Engr. Remi Omowaiye, Osun APC Campaign Spokesman.

Dear Sir, Hon. Engr. Omowaiye Oluremi

I write this open letter as a concerned citizen who believes that public office holders and political leaders should remain accountable to the people. My intention is not to create unnecessary controversy but to seek clarification on issues that have remained in the public domain and continue to generate discussions among the people of Osun State.

One issue that has continued to attract public attention is the Osun State surveillance drone project, you served as the Chairman of the Drone Project and publicly announced on national television that the state had acquired surveillance drones to strengthen security. In view of the current security challenges confronting our communities, I respectfully ask that you inform the people of Osun about the present status of those drones. Where are they today, and are they being deployed for the purpose for which public funds were committed?

In the same vein, I also seek clarification regarding the Osun State surveillance helicopter introduced during the previous administration. As one of the prominent officials who played key roles in Oyetola Administration, and now Osun APC campaign spokesman, you are in a good position to explain to the people where the helicopter is, whether it is operational, and how it has contributed to safeguarding lives and property in the previous administration. At a time when insecurity remains a major concern, the people deserve clear and factual answers.

I was also concerned by your recent comments suggesting that Ilesa and Ijesaland have not benefited from the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke. While political criticism is a legitimate part of democracy, such claims should be supported by verifiable evidence. Public debate should be based on facts rather than broad assertions, allowing citizens to make informed judgments about the performance of any administration.

Many residents believe that the current administration has executed projects and undertaken initiatives in Ilesa and across Ijesaland. If there are differing views on the extent or impact of these projects, such differences should be discussed with facts, records, and evidence rather than rhetoric. Healthy political engagement should enlighten the public instead of creating unnecessary divisions.

Furthermore, having served as the Commissioner for Works under the Oyetola administration, your own record is equally open to public assessment. I respectfully invite you to highlight the specific road projects, infrastructure, and developmental achievements you personally supervised or facilitated in Ilesa West, Ward 6, Ijesaland. This would enable the people to objectively compare the performance of past and present administrations.

As political leaders, we all have a responsibility to promote constructive discourse, encourage accountability, and place the interests of the people above partisan considerations. The citizens of Osun deserve honest answers regarding projects executed with public resources and deserve political conversations that are rooted in truth, evidence, and mutual respect.

I trust that you will receive this letter in the spirit in which it is written as a sincere call for accountability and constructive engagement. I look forward to your response on these important issues and hope it will contribute positively to public understanding and the continued development of Osun State. Thank you for your time and attention.
