“The outreach took a higher dimension of impact on Osun residents in Ile Ife where the outreach took place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March 2023 at the State Hospital, Oke- Ogbo, ile-Ife.

“The massive turn out of more than two thousand people who trooped to the venue of treatments did not only showed the level of healthcare needs of the populace but also the wide acceptance of the programme and an unquestionable trust in Imole Medical and Surgical Outreach. This in no doubt confirms that the intention of the current Administration to reach out to not less than eighteen thousand lives in Osun State is a right decision and very laudable.

“The ile – Ife outing availed not less than one thousand, six hundred and thirty one (1,631) people access to a quality healthcare handled by experienced and highly skilled professionals.

About eight hundred and thirty – three (833) people (116 Males, 518 Female and 199 Children) were seen by medical experts on cases ranging from cardiovascular problems (hypertension), respiratory tracts infections, renal challenges (Diabetes), Dermatological Cases, Neurological Cases and other medical conditions.

“Many people requiring surgical interventions to address challenges with their eye sights went home rejoicing as forty eight (48) of them benefited from free surgical removal of their pterygia (14) and cataracts (34). Some others requiring special surgical interventions have been referred to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Osogbo for further care.

“The general surgical team performed “wonders” (As expressed and testified by beneficiaries) by carrying out about one hundred and twenty five (125) surgeries for people who had hernia, hydrocele, lipoma, ganglion and other general surgical conditions.

“It is important to note that no complication whatsoever was recorded as all patients were properly observed and discharged home.

The planning and Implementation Committee with some Sub Committees were on their toes for pre outing planning and exercises not limited to meetings and traveling. The Committee meets twice in a week. One on Monday preceding an outreach and another on Friday after an outreach to review previous outreach and commence planning for the next.

“The successes recorded in the outreaches are also not unconnected to the strong synergy among all health workers in the Secondary and Tertiary Institutions within the State while few ones have also been drafted from Health Centres. The hosts of each outing have been superb in their preparations and unequivocally collaborating with the Committee.

The next outing is due to be held in Ilesha on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th March 2023.
