The Senator-Elect, Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi has felicitated with Timi Of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal Laminisa 1 on the occasion of his 15th anniversary ascension to the throne of his forefathers.
Akogun Lere Oyewumi, in a congratulatory statement released on Saturday, described the octogenarian as an embodiment of royalty, very objective, most astute, full of wisdom and a custodian of the traditional institution.
He also thanked the people of Edeland for reposing confidence on the monarch as well as giving him the needed support and cooperation in the past 15 years.
According to him, “As a bastion of culture and tradition, the monarch has played a significant role in the promotion of harmony among Ede people and their neighbours. The Timi’s reign has brought unity and peaceful co-existence and greatly promoted the rich cultural heritage of the people.
“He has been able to sustain and enhance the status of the throne and wielded influence that transcends the state. We are proud to celebrate this strategic leader and statesman whose positive attitude, strong will, discipline, self confidence and ability to manage people have been significant factors towards the progress and development of the state and the country in general,” Akogun Lere stated.
Akogun Lere Oyewumi equally acknowledged the role of traditional and religious leaders in nation building, promising that government would continue to support them by creating the right platform for them to function effectively and served as advisor for a responsive representation.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the royal father many more years on the throne in good health and wisdom to continue with the remarkable service to humanity through his wise counsel and advice to the people. Congratulations !!
