Osun Govt flags off 84km rural road construction project to boost agriculture, economic development

In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and economic growth, the Osun State Government has launched an 84km rural road construction project under the Osun Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

The State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, represented by Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, launched the 84km rural road project in Aagba, aimed at improving road infrastructures and access across different parts of the state by helping rural farmers transport their produce more efficiently.

Governor Adeleke reiterated the governmentโ€™s determination to link rural communities with urban centers to boost the local economy and enhance social development.

The Governor who also recalled the passage of bills establishing the Rural Access Road Agency (RARA) and the State Road Fund (SRF), which will ensure the sustainability of rural road projects,maintained the readiness of his administration to make a positive difference throughout the state.

Th Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon.Ganiyu Ola Oluwa praised the State Governmentโ€™s efforts while expressing confidence that the project would significantly improve living standards in rural areas.

He,however, emphasised the need for collaborative efforts at all government levels to sustain rural development and food security.

Also speaking,Hon. Moji Omisore, Special Adviser on RAAMP, lauded the Governorโ€™s commitment to rural development, highlighting the projectโ€™s potential to boost agriculture by improving road infrastructure and enhancing market access for farmers.

Hon. Rasaq Olohunde, Senior Special Assistant on RAAMP, also noted the Governorโ€™s dedication to addressing rural farmersโ€™ challenges through infrastructure improvements.

Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, National Coordinator of RAAMP, commended the Governorโ€™s leadership and the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in the project aimed at transforming rural areas and boosting agricultural productivity.

Oba Rufus Olayinka Ogunwole, Alagbaa of Aagba,in his royal message thanked the state government and all stakeholders for their dedication to improving rural infrastructure by highlighting the projectโ€™s positive impact on local accessibility and development.
