Gov. Adeleke is Committed To Nurses, Health Professionals Welfare- Dr Akindele

…As He declares Open Osun State Nurses Week Celebration

The Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke has commended the Nursing practitioners in Osun State for being a partner in progress in the state while reaffirming his commitment to their welfare and that of other health practitioners in the state.

The Governor made this known at the opening ceremony of the International Nurses Week Celebration held at the College of Health Sciences, Osun State University, Isale-Osun, Osogbo as organised by the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Osun State council.

The Governor who was represented at the event by his Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr Akindele Adekunle reiterated the continuous resolve of Governor Ademola Adeleke to continue to take care of the welfarism of health practitioners in the state.

” Welfarism of the people is a first-line charge in the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke and this is evident in the myriads of benefits that are being sorted and paid intermittently by the Governor for every career workers, civil and public servants in the state.

” I therefore bring you word of hope from our pro-people and hardworking Governor concerning your welfare. Every area of request will be looked into, and your welfarism will be improved upon as much as you want and as better you can ever imagine,” Dr Akindele reiterated on behalf of the Governor.

Dr Akindele equally applauds the collaborative efforts and the good relationships the nurses have with other sectoral heads and units in the health sector of the state.

While thanking the association for their commendable job, the Special Adviser on Public Health used Yeye Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, who is a certified nurse, to declare Nurses as ‘mother of the health sector and our healthcare facilities.’

The Acting Chairman of National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Comrade Waheed Oyeyemi commend the Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Adeleke “for all that he has been doing to the benefit of the entire Osun workers, especially in the area of regular payment of salary, payment of some of the salary arrears owed by the previous administrations and many more,” he however make request of some other benefits which the Special Adviser on Public Health assured them it will be look into.

Among other political functionaries and dignitaries at the event include the Commissioner for Health in the state, Barr Jola Akintola, the Olupo of Oluponna land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-Rafiu Oyekanmi Bamigboye, Barr Niyi Owolade (Board Chairman, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo), Hon. Mrs. Olaide Akinremi (Chairperson of the Occasion), Dr A.B Bello (Director of Public Health), Dr Opakunle(CMD State Teaching Hospital, Asubiaro), Dr. Olajide Oluseyi(Keynote Speaker), among other political, government, and career eggheads and dignitaries at the event.
