The body of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has departed Lagos and is expected to arrive in Abuja today ahead of burial on Friday.
Tribune Online reports that the demise of late COAS Lagbaja at the age of 56 years was announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday, 6th November 2024
Upon arrival in Abuja, Lagbaja’s body will be accorded a guard of honor and taken down the red carpet in full view of Nigeria’s military top brass until it is put in the ambulance and taken to a resting place, Channels reports.
The late COAS, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu and served for one year and four months, will have body interned on Friday at the national military cemetery Abuja.
