Osun State helmsman, Senator Ademola Adeleke has bagged an award of excellence as the 2024 Best Civil Service Loving Governor in Nigeria.
Presenting the award to the Governor in his office, the President, Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) who also doubles as the Vice-president, Nigeria Labour Congress,(NLC) Southwest Zone, Comrade Oluwole Adeleye said the award is in recognition of the Governor’s outstanding performance in the state and his positive disposition to workers generally.
Comrade Adeleye, while congratulating the Governor, also acknowledged his consistency and style of governance which, according to him, has positively impacted the human capital, socio- -economic and infrastructural developments of Osun State.
The Nigeria Civil Service Union President who led other labour leaders and members to the award presentation, added that the Union will continue to sustain its pivotal role in advocacy for good governance and agitations for better welfare for workers generally.
Buttressing factors that earned Governor Adeleke the award, the Labour leader in the SouthWest zone of NLC, listed the good gestures of the Governor to workers to include but not limited to prompt payment of salaries, payment of palliatives to workers in order to cushion the negative effects of economic hardship as well as promotion, conversion and advancement of workers.
Responding, Governor Adeleke appreciated Osun State workers for co-operating with his administration, saying he is able to deliver much of his electoral promises within a short period of time through the grace of God and their support.
The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi appealed to workers to continue to support him.
He equally thanked the workforce in the state for supporting the present government.
Governor Adeleke used the occasion to commend the State Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina for standing by him always, noting that Mr Aina’s love for workers is unprecedented as he has, never, for once been selfish for his own personal gains but that of workers.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina appreciated the Governor for being a pillar of strength and support by being attentive to their welfare all the time.
Mr Aina further told the gathering that anytime he visits the Governor on official matters, the result has always been positive because of the immense interest of the Governor for the growth and development of workers .
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Osun State chapter of Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Comrade Seyi Oyinlola, noted with gladness, that the Governor deserves the award presented to him as the 2024 Best Civil
Service Loving Governor in Nigeria.
While thanking him for putting workers welfare first, Com. Oyinlola implored him to continue his friendliness and positive dispositions to the many issues on the growth and development of workers.
In his own address, the Chairman, Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Com. Abimbola Arapasopo said the labour in Osun is glad to have Governor Adeleke at the helm of affairs.
He maintained that the Congress believes the Governor is going to approve not just a minimum wage for workers, but a living wage.

Akinyode Oyewusi, other members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi; Labour Leaders at the State and Southwest levels, among others too numerous to mention.
