Your claim over white Paper is baseless and frivolous, authentic ruling houses in Igbajo tells Owa Oke-Ode family

The authentic princes and princesses from Igbajo town in Boluwaduro Local Government area of Osun State have berated the statement made by the people parading themselves as members of the Owa Oke-Ode ruling houses of the ancient town towards the nullification of the selection process of Adegboyega Famodun as the Owa of Igbajo land by Governor Ademola Adeleke in the Government White Paper released on Thursday.

The princes and princesses who described the statement as baseless and frivolous described the affected people as the minority members and not representatives of Omo Owa Oke-Ode family, adding that, before now, the same set of people have been begging and pleading that the issue be settled in-house that they have accepted their mistakes by installing Prince Famodun illegally and against the custom and tradition of Igbajo but we insisted that the wrong perpetrated must be reversed and corrected for posterity sake.

According to a press statement issued and made available to newsmen on Saturday by Prince Adeyeye Gbenga Akande from Loye Oke-Odo, Prince Ojo, Prince Adewale Makinde from Onigemo, Prince Olaniyan from Fajite, Prince Adekanmi Alabi from Baba Owa, Prince Kayode Esan from Aworoosun, Prince Adeyinka Adereni from Omokan and Chief Adeife Olatilo from Agbojuomi, the same set of people went ahead to install Prince Famodun crookedly on Tuesday instead of Friday that is a market day in lgbajo as they were the ones that have desecrated the custom and tradition.

It will be recall that the affected people in their resolutions according to them on Friday, signed by High Chief Adewumi Taiwo, the Babaloye Akeran of Igbajoland; Prince Adeniyi Adeyemo, Secretary to Omo Owa Oke-Ode Ruling House of Igbajo and fourteen others, declared that the kingmakers had selected Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun as the authentic Owa of Igbajo November 22nd, 2022.

The real ruling houses in Igbajo town in this statement declared that, the same set of people that passed the resolution above when the court could not sit to rule on the pending case before Hon. Justice Afolabi of Osun state High court, Osogbo on 21/11/2022, hurriedly went ahead to install Famodun, the following morning of 22/11/2022 and the whole town was militarized with APC thugs, armed security agents to attack anyone who want to stop them,

“The same set of people who failed to observe the number of days that the newly installed king suppose to use in lpebi.

“They impersonated the people recognised by tradition to carry out the traditional rites while the same set of people, immediately after the death of our late Oba, HRH, Oba Olufemi Fasade went ahead to pack all the royal accessories in the palace and kept it with Prince Famodun in Osogbo against our tradition as Omo Owa in Igbajo.

” They hurriedly went ahead to install Prince Famodun 3 days to the end of APC government in Osun after losing election.

“The general public should ignore their statement and uphold what the state Government has done by ordering all inclusive new process to commence.

“So, with all the above mentioned facts, what kind of tradition are they talking about that are not reversible? They are all liars.

“We are using this medium to call on our elders, leaders and entire residents in Igbajo town to break their silence and speak up the truth as the Bible says, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

“We are using this medium calling on the general public and the good government of Osun state under the leadership of our amiable and performing Governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke that we are pleased with the Goverment decision. We are also calling on the Commissioner of Police to please be sensitive and checkmate the excesses of this set of people that may cause breach of the public peace in the ancient town of Igbajo known as one of the peaceful and law abiding community in Osun, the statement concluded.
