It is no longer news that David Adeleke which you all know as Davido has been appointed as the Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund by His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. Yes, he was appointed. While you critics have chosen to view the appointment through the narrow lens of family ties, it is important to place facts above highlight the immense value this decision brings to Osun State before you begin to disgrace your family on social media.
First and foremost, Davido’s appointment is strategic, not sentimental. As one of Africa’s most influential entertainers, a global brand ambassador, and a philanthropist with vast international networks, Davido commands the kind of global visibility that can attract partnerships, sponsorships, and investments into the state’s sporting sector. His global clout and credibility in entertainment, business, and youth empowerment are invaluable assets that transcend politics.
Osun State Sports Trust Fund is obviously not about day-to-day sports administration, it is primarily designed to mobilize private sector funding for sports development, infrastructure, and youth engagement. This makes Davido’s appointment a masterstroke.
His brand reach, network of corporate partners, and influence across borders position him perfectly to drive fundraising and sponsorship initiatives that can transform Osun’s sports landscape.
