Adeleke’s CONTEDISS approval boosts workers’ morale at Osun College of Health Technology

Workers of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, have expressed appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke over the approval and implementation of the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) for staff of the institution.
The development, according to the college, has boosted the morale of workers and encouraged them to put more commitment into their duties.
The College’s Public Relations Officer, Kingsley Omoyeni, said the approval was significant to the workers, particularly after several years of agitation for the adoption of the salary structure.
Omoyeni said the workers had previously taken the matter to successive administrations through organised labour but were unable to secure the approval.
He said the implementation of CONTEDISS under the present administration, which commenced in 2024, had brought the college’s workers closer to the salary structure enjoyed by their counterparts in other tertiary institutions.
He said, “The welfare of workers in the College has always been and still remains paramount to the Governor of Osun State. Workers of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, will forever be grateful to the Governor for approving the CONTEDISS salary scale after several years of agitation.”
According to him, the development came at a time when many workers had already lost hope of securing the approval after previous efforts through organised labour and successive administrations yielded no result.
Omoyeni said the governor’s intervention also showed recognition of the specialised role of the college in training health professionals.
He added that the college had benefited from other interventions of the state government, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and workers’ welfare.
He said, “The Governor recognises the fact that the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, is focused on a specialised field of academic studies, particularly health training. Workers in such an environment need to be well motivated.”
The PRO further said the improved welfare package had had a positive effect on the attitude of workers, noting that members of staff had responded with renewed vigour and commitment to their responsibilities.
He said, “Since the approval of the CONTEDISS salary scale, members of staff of the College have been repaying the kind gesture of the Governor with renewed vigour, strength and commitment to their various duties.”
He added that the day to day activities of the institution had continued to run smoothly, attributing the development partly to improved staff morale.
Some members of staff who spoke through the Public Relations Office also commended the governor for what they described as his efforts to improve the welfare of workers and infrastructure at the institution.
They expressed appreciation for the salary structure, saying it had improved their morale and encouraged them to remain committed to their responsibilities.
The workers also said the institution had experienced positive changes under the present administration, expressing hope that the government would sustain its interventions in the college.
