Osun APC, fake news are 5 and 6, Says Adeleke’s spokesperson

The Spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has dismissed allegations of victimisation of some local government workers by the state government, describing the claim as false and another attempt by the opposition to mislead the public.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Rasheed, said the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and fake news were 5 and 6, insisting that no local government worker was being victimised by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
He said Governor Adeleke had remained committed to reconciliation, particularly after the August 15 governorship election, which the governor had described as an election with “no winner and no vanquished.”
According to him, Adeleke had also extended forgiveness to those who offended and persecuted him, while calling on his political opponents to join hands with his administration in building a greater and prosperous Osun State.
Rasheed said the governor had backed his reconciliation message with concrete actions, including the establishment of an electoral violence compensation fund and two other panels aimed at finding lasting solutions to political violence in the state.
The governor’s spokesperson described the alleged witch-hunt of local government workers as “a figment of the opposition’s imagination,” stressing that all local government staff remained protected by the applicable service rules and regulations.
“The Governor and all agencies of government remain committed to protecting the rights of all workers within the ambit of the law and public service regulations,” he said.
He, however, appealed to public servants to abide by the rules governing the public service, noting that compliance with established regulations was necessary to maintain discipline, orderliness and effective service delivery to the people.
