Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has redefined governance in Osun State, proving himself as a true leader committed to the development and well-being of the people. His remarkable achievements across various sectors have not only earned him high ratings but have also won the trust and support of residents across all 30 local government areas.
Despite inheriting numerous challenges, including financial mismanagement and policy setbacks from the previous administration, Governor Adeleke has remained steadfast in his vision to transform Osun State. His impact is visible in education, infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and healthcare, among other areas.
In the education sector, Governor Adeleke has made giant strides by ensuring the successful takeoff of the University of Ilesa, a long-awaited milestone for the state. Not stopping there, his administration has embarked on the construction of the first-ever female hostel in the university, providing a safer and more conducive environment for female students. In a move that highlights his commitment to job creation and staff welfare, the governor converted 230 temporary staff members from the defunct College of Education to permanent staff positions at the University of Ilesa. This intervention has provided job security and stability to affected workers. Furthermore, his administration has undertaken the rehabilitation of 630 classrooms, including staff offices, in 125 basic schools across the state. This massive investment ensures that students learn in a more conducive environment, enhancing the quality of education in Osun.
Governor Adeleke’s dedication to workers’ welfare is evident in his approval of ₦75,000 as the new minimum wage for Osun workers and his continuous payment of baglogs of half salaries arrears owed by previous APC administration in the state. This bold move alleviates the financial burden on civil servants and reflects his administration’s deep appreciation for their contributions to the state’s growth. This is a contrast to the previous administration, which neglected workers’ welfare and left many struggling.
The health sector in Osun State is also experiencing a significant transformation under Governor Adeleke’s leadership. His administration has embarked on the rehabilitation of 345 primary healthcare centers (PHCs), with 200 already completed. These centers now have 24/7 power supply and water facilities, ensuring that residents, especially those in rural areas, have access to quality healthcare.
Governor Adeleke’s leadership stands in stark contrast to that of the previous administration, which left behind a legacy of financial recklessness, abandoned projects, and a disregard for workers’ welfare. Osun people still remember the hardships they endured and will not be swayed by those who once mismanaged the state’s resources. However, under Adeleke’s governance, Osun is witnessing real progress, not just political rhetoric. His policies and achievements speak for themselves. Anyone in doubt need only visit Osun State to see the transformation firsthand.
With his undeniable track record of excellence, Governor Adeleke deserves and more qualified of another term and beyond 2026. The people of Osun will undoubtedly stand by a leader who has consistently put their needs first.
