Big Brother Naija star, Leo Dasilva, has defended YouTuber Emdee Tiamiyu over his comment about Nigerian students studying in the United Kingdom.
The Youtuber had said in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation that many Nigerian students seeking admissions into schools in the United Kingdom were not looking for new qualifications, but rather to start a new life overseas.
The video went viral after the UK enacted a law that will prevent Nigerian students, and others studying in the UK, from bringing family as dependents except under specific circumstances.
Following the backlash Tiamiyu faced after the interview, Dasilva stated that the YouTuber was not at fault, adding that the UK used the interview as a PR.
The reality TV star tweeted on Wednesday, “I just want to point this out, this also happened to us in England a few years after in 2010. Conservatives changed many immigration laws for us.
“The UK has done this constantly, and they just needed this PR not to seem prejudice/racist. He is not at fault at all. We will eventually have to focus on developing Nigeria.”
