FRCN: Supporters have backed former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim to be the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
While purchasing a ₦40m Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, the groups’ leader, Comrade Mayor Samuel, said that Ayim had shown competence, capacity, and suitability to lead Nigerians.
Similarly, Bauchi State Governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, hosted the Bala Mohammed Vanguard, a political pressure group that acquired the governor’s the ₦40m form.
The BMV group said they rated him based on his tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, saying it was proof that he could efficiently govern the nation.
Governor Bala Mohammed responded by describing the day’s events as auspicious and the group’s conduct as an impetus to give himself to service.
Earlier, similar groups bought nomination forms for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Senator Bukola Saraki, and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, all vying for the potion of president in the 2023 general election.

In the meantime, while the APC prepares for its national convention on March 26, a coalition of women’s groups led by Nigerian Women for Justice and Peace has urged the party’s leadership to support the aspiration of the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Dr George Akume, to lead the party as chairman.
Mrs Beckie Orpin, the National Coordinator and former chairman of Gboko Local Government Council in Benue state, described Sen. Akume in a statement as a politician with a personality that appeals to all interests within the country, whom she said the APC should use in its drive to maintain national leadership beyond 2023.
