Governor Adeleke unveils new Osun logo

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has unveiled the new official logo for the state.

The governor made the unveiling on Tuesday during the 2nd edition of IPADE IMOLE held at Ilesa.

Recall that Adeleke had on Wednesday, April 7, 2024, signed a bill adopting a new logo for the state, but the design released on social media generated a lot of criticism from citizens of the state.

On April 18, 2024, the governor through a release issued by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed directed that a logo crafting competition should be held between April 19th and 26th, 2024, while on April 26, a Five-man panel of judges was named to review the entries and nominate the best top three designs.

The Panel of Judges includes Veteran broadcaster, Olusola Ajala as Chairman, Senior Bureaucrat, Moshood Suleiman as Secretary, while Brand Specialist, Dayo Oderinu, ICT and brand consultant Segun Yedupe, and ace graphic artist, Kazeem Olalekan are members.

Commenting on the one week competition, Governor Adeleke said; “As a listening leader, I have asked that we open the change of logo to more public input through this one week competition.

“This is to inform the general public, that after a keenly-contested Logo Competition, which commenced from the 19th and terminated on the 26th of April, a final winner of the Osun State New Logo Competition has emerged.

“After a thorough review process, the Committee presented a shortlist of 5 logo designs from which the best top three designs. The top three designs are by:

  1. Mogaji Bolaji Abdullah
  2. Ayoola Simeon
  3. Busari Tola (on behalf of a group of Osun-based Graphics Designers)

“I want to appreciate the 5-man panel of Judges, which was saddled with the task of filtering out the best entries under 72 hours, in line with the parameters laid down for the contestants as well as the review process.

“I also congratulates the contestants and the final winners.”

Prizes for the top three designers will be unveiled in a couple of days, while the designers themselves will be formally hosted by relevant offices of government.
