Former Deputy Governor of Osun state , Senator Iyiola Omisore is staging a political comeback that may rock the political system to its foundation.
The Ife born politician is positioned for the National Secretaryship of the ruling All Progressives Congress, a position that will place him at the heart of power process in the country.
A shrewd operator in national politics, Omisore’s re-emergence especially from the faction of Senator Bola Tinubu has sent tongues wagging about such an unusual political alliance.
Reports indicated that Omisore’s acceptability to those behind the Secretaryship agenda was to tap the reported national network and street political qualities of the former Senator.
Others however felt his prominence in the ruling party creates an image crisis for the progressive family especially in western Nigeria.
His supporters are quick to fire back that Nigerian politics is fluid as no politician can be pinned to one corner.
The road ahead may however not be fully cleared as the Senator’s alignment within the party seems to run against the mainstream.
As a Tinubu man, the suspicion is that Omisore may face uphill battle from the cabal around the Presidency.
