Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps on Wednesday apprehended four men- Isaac Oluwafemi, 23 years, Adeolu Ayuba, 19 years, Afeez Ismail, 23 years, and Sola Azeez, 19 years, all indigenes of Iwo local government for alleged theft, burglary and vandalism of government properties.
The suspects committed the act in the former Ola-Oluwa local government secretariat situated in Telemu, Osun State.
They were arrested after vandalising and stealing aluminium sheets, iron tables, and wheelchairs.
The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander in Osun, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, confirming the arrest, revealed that luck ran out on them after the operatives of Amotekun in Iwo local government area received distress calls from residents of the area.
Adewinmbi said the operatives swung into action immediately and arrested the culprits while escaping the scene with the stolen items.
“Upon the investigation, the suspects confessed to perpetrating the act.
“The suspects have been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution,” Adewinmbi stated.
