Yobe first lady, Gumsu Abacha announces separation from husband

The Yobe State First Lady, Gumsu Abacha, the daughter of former military Head of State, late General Sani Abacha, has announced her divorce from Governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.

Gumsu’s divorce from the Governor, was announced yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu, the state capital, while she was replying to a follower who called her ‘First Lady’ on her X handle, formerly Twitter in the social media.

Gumsu, while sharing a photo of herself, announced that she was emancipating and liberating married women. She wrote, “Emancipation…Liberation.”

In the comment section of followers, she was referred to as the first lady of Yobe state, but Gumsu said she was not married.

She replied: “I am not married. “An inside source in Damaturu, the state capital, also confirmed that the marriage ended a few months ago.

Buni, however, married the 45-year-old Gumsu Abacha on April 14, 2021, who was previously married to a billionaire in Cameroon, Bayero Mohamadou.

There were also no explanations for the termination of marriage to Alhaji Mohammadou.
