Governor Ademola Adeleke has commiserated with the people of Ayedire Local government over the demise of His Royal Highness, Ọba Olaoye Yinusa Oyelayo Akanbi, the Atolugbu Of Ejemu, Oke Oba.
In a condolence message issued this morning, the Governor described the late monarch as “a grassroot development champion, a top political elder in Osun State and a strong voice of wisdom in turbulent days of Osun politics.
“Kabiyesi was a strong supporter of progressive politics from the First Republic till date. From his days at the Action Group to the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), our late Royal father was a mobiliser par excellence.
“Throughout our time of association, the late Monarch was a reliable political elder who played a prominent role in the Imole movement ahead of the 2022 governorship contest. He was one of the elders who stood by us through the political battles.
“As a monarch, late Pa Oyelayo was a community builder. Within the short period of his ascension to the throne, he impacted positively on the lives of his people”, the State Governor noted.
Governor Adeleke posited that the state has lost an elder imbued with political sagacity and strategic politicking skills, praying God Almighty to grant him eternal rest.
“On behalf of the people and government of Osun State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the children, grandchildren, the families, the people of Ejemu land, the people of Ayedire local government and the entire PDP family in Osun State.
“We pray the good Lord grant our Royal Father eternal rest and Al Jannah Firdaus”, the statement concluded.
