No project embarked on will be abandoned by our govt – Osun Commissioner for Special Duties

…reads riot act to contractors on timeliness

The Osun State Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr BT Salam has promised that the current government in State will never abandon any of the infrastructural projects it has embarked upon.

The Commissioner stated that the present administration led by Governor Ademola Adeleke will not joke with anything that may want to slow down the pace of work on any of the projects.

Dr Salam disclosed this on Friday while speaking with contractors during the inspection of projects across the State with a team of Engineers from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

The inspection took the team through Old Garage/Okefia to LAMECO Junction in Osogbo and the Akoda/Cottage/Oke Gada/Ido Osun roads in Ede, which is currently being dualised.

He told contractors handling the projects to work according to time already agreed upon at inception of the projects, stressing that Governor Ademola Adeleke is not ready to abandon any project in the State.

In his words, “We have a Governor who is in a hurry to develop this State and he is not ready to abandon any project. It won’t be nice if you the contractors are the ones who will want to slow him down.

“I expressed displeasure over the rate/speed of work being done on some sections of the projects and urged the contractors to buckle up so as to deliver the projects at the stipulated time.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Bashir Bello, who was represented on the inspection tour by the Director of Highways, Engr. Moruf Ojebode, told the contractors to work according to agreed specifications.
