Dr Akindele Adekunle led Osun State PDP caretaker committee on Saturday, played host to Governor of Bauchi State and a presidential Aspirant on the platform of the party, Senator Bala Mohammed. The visit was in continuation of Senator Bala’s consultation tour of state chapters of the party.
Dr Akindele while welcoming Senator Bala to the party secretariat, attested to his versatility and detribalized nature while serving as a Minister of the federal capital territory. He prayed that the Bauchi helmsman receive favour of party delegates to contest for the office of the president because of his capacity which he has demonstrated over the years.
Senator Bala in his remarks assured party leaders of his readiness to deploy his wealth of experience to tackle lingering issue of insecurity and other challenges confronting us as a nation.
He said he grew up as son of a teacher.
He has worked and traversed the country to know importance of nationality,
He grew up to know the importance of education as well as national unity.
“Nigeria according to him, needs to be reconstructed and reinvented.
The security infrastructure is lopsided. Many are feeling sidelined which formed the basis for the current agitations across the country especially down south.
“There should be less power at the center. Subnationals should enjoy autonomy to make the country more secured”. All these he promised to address as a prepared and detribalized Nigerian.
He concluded with a pledge to support whoever emerges as the party’s presidential candidate, in the event he did not succeed in his quest to win the presidential ticket of the party.
Members of the state caretaker committee, notable leaders as well as delegates of the party were all on hand to receive Senator Bala Mohammed.
